“The indictment of a former president of the United States on a campaign finance issue sends a terrible message to the wider world about American justice,” Pence said at National Review Institute Ideas Summit.

The decision to indict Trump will likely further divide the United States which is currently facing “intractable” challenges at home and abroad, Pence added.
